This is an important part of the insurance purchasing process with which Mr. Underdown is very familiar. It is an opportunity for a risk manager to "sell" the risk of his corporation to an underwriter. It is important for the risk manager to understand the rules for submission to each potential underwriter. In some cases, the submission is made as a bound volume, with a history and background accompanied by charts and graphs. In other cases, the submission is made in the form of a CD containing much of the same information; however, the use of a CD allows for the inclusion of video if it will assist the underwriter in making an informed decision on the acceptance and pricing of the risk.
